I’m working on an essay about how technology has changed the way music is created and recorded, and I’m trying to figure out the best way to organize the research. I want to cover both the creative side of musicians and the technical side of recording without turning the essay into a simple history of music technology.

One part I’m considering is how Audio Engineers / Musicians work together during recording and production, especially with modern digital tools. For anyone who has written essays about music, technology, or creative professions, what types of sources would you consider reliable? Would interviews, industry publications, academic sources, or examples from real recording projects make the essay stronger?
